This year the music festival is going country with a lineup including Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Joe Nichols, Nashville Recording Artist Vegas McGraw( Tim McGraw Tribute), Whelan Stone, and the Santa Cruz based Alex Lucero Band.

Long-time Gilroy residents Brenda and Shawn Chizanskos, lead a team of dedicated volunteers, and are the driving force behind Day on the Ridge.

Founded in 2017 When Shawn and his friend Ed Sauceda came up with the idea to give back to the community in a fun way. The result was a live, day-long concert which played into the pair ' s love for music. Growing up in the Bay Area, Shawn and Ed wanted to pay homage to the legendary Rock Promoter Bill Graham ' s Day on the Green concert series( Bill Graham Presents) that ran from the early 1970 ' s through the early 1990 ' s.

One major difference, Day on the Green was held at the Oakland- Alameda Coliseum. Day on the Ridge is held in the backyard of Shawn and wife Brenda Chizanskos home in Eagle Ridge.

To be fair, the Chizanskos ' s back yard is not your typical back yard. This back yard includes a natural bowl-shaped hillside, gently sloping open space for easy concert viewing and comfy seating, and plenty of semi-flat to flat surfaces for walking, mingling, and grabbing food and merch from local vendors who line the outside edge of the concert grounds. everyone they serve. The Chizanskos and their mighty group of volunteers all believe in the mission of Saint Joseph ' s and in the person of David Cox. They show it in their tireless efforts to put on a great event, year after year, for all to enjoy.

To date, Day on the Ridge has raised and donated over $ 550,000 dollars for the cause. Their website sums up the event as " music festival meets backyard barbeque." They share that it is a summer party, concert, music festival, and community event unlike any other... and you are invited!
