Butterfield Fire Station
Welcome to the Newest Morgan Hill Fire Station
By Amy Whelan, City of Morgan Hill
17285 Butterfield Blvd. in Morgan Hill. That’ s the home of the soon-to-be-opened fire station on Butterfield Boulevard between East Main and Diana avenues. It will be a state-ofthe-art,“ green” facility relying on solar panels and all-electric power. The new station will be staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with fire fighters assigned from surrounding squads in the area.
** Medical Responses include all non-traffic collision-related medical calls. Morgan Hill Firefighters are trained to provide both firefighting and emergency medical services. Therefore, firefighters respond to all medical calls to begin basic or advanced life support before an ambulance arrives.
*** Other Non-Fire Incidents is a broad term that can include miscellaneous activities, including training, public outreach, or administrative events.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for May 2025; the community is encouraged to attend to get a glimpse of the structure before the team gets called into action. For example, in 2024, the Morgan Hill Fire Department, including the fire engine at headquarters, responded to 4,800 calls for service!
* Other Fires can include events, such as false alarms, smoke checks, trash fires, fire assists to other agencies.
The Butterfield Fire Station will be the third station fully funded by the city. There is a fourth station, which is a headquarters funded by both the city and the South Santa Clara County Fire District.
