Kids Corner: Oil Pastel Circles & Watercolor Resist- Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky
With Guest Artists: Maya Mariscal: age 13, Andrew Ohara: age 12, Johnny Pires: age 12, Austin Orlando: age 13
I
love art history and whenever I get the chance I like to incorporate it into an inspiration for an art project. Kandinsky always fascinated me because he could see sound. He is also credited to be one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art. Some of his most famous work is based on circles.

Before I started the art project I talked about Kandinsky and showed examples of his work. We used oil pastel on black paper and oil pastel on watercolor paper with a watercolor wash to achieve 2 works of art based on this inspiration. Give it a try with one technique or both. It’ s Fun! Let’ s get started.
