Gilroy Rodeo Hosts Sold-Out Weekend Roundup

By gmhTODAY Magazine

The 2026 Gilroy Rodeo was a resounding success. The dedicated, all-volunteer Gilroy Rodeo committee hosted a fun, exciting, and sold-out weekend event. Local and regional cowboys and cowgirls competed in bronc riding, bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and more. The family-friendly event featured live music, line dancing, and an artisan shopping and dining village with food prepared onsite by local vendors. Shopping options included everything from hair tinsel and cowboy hats to boots, bling, and more. Local volunteers served beverages, managed the grounds, the childrens play area, a petting zoo and the Rodeo ' s signature apparel tent. Central to the village stood the iconic statue of local legend and six-time World Champion Casey Tibbs and his horse War Paint, providing a favorite backdrop for group photos and selfies. Hats off to the Gilroy Rodeo Association on another stellar event— raising over $ 30,000 for Jacob’ s Heart“ Kickin’ Cancer to the Curb” this year, and hundreds of thousands for local organizations since its inaugural year in 2018.
