Nguyen is also happy to see how the temple is introducing Asian culture to Americans. People have mistakenly come to the Tam Tu gardens thinking that it was a nursery, but instead of finding a new plant for their yard, they discover a sense of healing. Some have enjoyed the experience so much that they bring other family members back to show them. This blending and influencing of cultures is very important to Nguyen. There are so many ways in which we divide ourselves, whether it’ s race, language, skin color, class, or belief systems. But the more we come together, the more we can realize we have more similarities than differences, and that our lives are all connected.“ Without you, I would not survive, and without me, you would not survive either,” Nguyen said.
