Walking through the South County along the Uvas Creek Levy West to Hoey Ranch then North to Welburn Ave and Mantelli Drive is a beautiful and slightly challenging walk that will delight you with visual treats along the way.
On a sunny and cool Saturday morning, we headed out, determined to get a good walk in before heading downtown for breakfast. Starting where Wren Avenue meets the Uvas Creek Levee, the air was crisp as we headed west past the dog park.
With our diva dog Roast Beef in tow, we just waved at the big dogs playing in the park on our way around the loop, enjoying the scenic views of lush green hills, rooftops and a plethora of hawks, falcons, and other winged ones droning above restless squirrels. As the trails loop back towards Santa Teresa, running along Hecker Pass Hwy, Hoey Ranch comes into view, providing lots of visuals of rustic yard décor, farm implements, and other curiosities.
