Pets For Vets Event Celebrates 8th Year Benefitting Operation Freedom Paws
Pets for Vets returned to J. Winston Winery for another successful year, bringing the community together for an afternoon of music, food, and fourlegged fun in support of the much-loved local nonprofit Operation Freedom Paws. The event featured a lively dog costume contest, a virtual pet contest on J. Winston’ s social media, live music by Brooke and Emil, local vendors, a silent auction, and prize drawings— made possible by the generous sponsorship of Sushi Confidential and the support of dozens of local businesses. Guests of all ages also delighted in meeting Trace, a 34-year-old mini horse who added to the fun.
Organized by Patty Skovron for the past eight years and graciously hosted by J. Winston Winery, the event also launched a new initiative, Paws for Positivity, inviting attendees to share messages of gratitude, kindness, and encouragement. Operation Freedom Paws is dedicated to empowering veterans, first responders, children, and individuals with disabilities to regain independence and restore their freedom to live life.
