32nd Annual WILDFLOWER RUN
Presented by the AAUW of Morgan Hill
NOELLA
First presented in 1984 for the express purpose of raising funds to support
education for women, the first race was for women and girls only, and the
organizers were surprised by the large turnout of more than 200 runners.
In 1984 the Run raised $1,000 that was donated to AAUW (American
Association of University Women) Educational Foundation. This year, on
March 29th, there were 1,166 participants plus 150 volunteers. Proceeds
are projected to be $45,000, exceeding 2014 income by 10%.
Because of the Wildflower Run, the AAUW Morgan Hill can send
middle school girls to a math/science camp, host a high school speech
contest and offer college scholarships.
