Grilled Black Cod that was recommended
by our waiter. Both were absolutely
delicious and with a glass of wine, a great
way to start the weekend.
From the Fishwife we drove around the
corner to Asilomar Beach, a little piece
of California heaven. The weather was
perfect and people from all walks of life –
surfers and seniors, families and lovers, sun
worshipers and book lovers – were enjoying
the beauty. After many stops, photo opps
and moments of total awe, we drove along
Ocean View Boulevard to our destination,
Lovers Point. We have stayed in a couple of
the many Victorian B&Bs in Pacific Grove
but this time we choose Lovers Point Inn
because of its location. The ocean view
room was a bit of a stretch — one had to
sit on the bed in just the right spot to see
the water! But, the location was what we
wanted and location is what we got.
Lovers Point is a destination in and of
itself. The park is always busy, with people
milling about — locals and tourists. It is
on the Monterey Bay Costal Trail and the
home of our next culinary destination, The
Beach House, formerly The Bath House.
