Caitlin Robinett Jachimowicz was one of the many applicants for the open Morgan Hill City
Council seat. How does a thirty-something, first-time politician land a City Council seat?
For Caitlin, it was two-fold: first, impress the sitting Council with your accomplishments
and second, lay out a compelling vision.
Her Background
Caitlin’s family moved to Morgan Hill in the early ’70s. She
attended local schools, graduated from Live Oak and was
honored as the Morgan Hill Chamber’s Student of the Year in
2002. She graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University
and went on to Santa Clara University School of Law where she
was recognized as Student of the Year in 2010. She received
scholarships from the NAACP and the Santa Clara Law Alumni
Association for her volunteer work with underprivileged
communities. Her legal research work on Haiti was featured in
the Santa Clara Law and Undergraduate magazine.
She was admitted to the bar in 2010. She has clerked for the
Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the Panetta
Institute for Public Policy and served as a congressional aide to
Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren. Before her appointment to the
Morgan Hill Council she served on the Santa Clara County Parks
and Recreation Commission for five years. Currently Caitlin
works at Jachimowicz | Pointer, Attorneys at Law, Inc. with her
husband and father-in-law.
Her Vision
As a couple with a young daughter, Penelope, Caitlin and her
husband, Josh, had many housing choices in the valley. They
chose Morgan Hill!
Caitlin jokes that she helped Josh realize that “the sky is
bigger” in Morgan Hill. More importantly Caitlin wanted to
return to the place that had been good to her as a kid—a
place where family values counted; a place that had a sense of
patriotism; a place that valued community involvement; and a
place where they could raise their daughter.
Caitlin’s vision also includes an awareness of a world vision.
