S
anta Clara County Library District’s (SCCLD) new bookmobile
of course! The new vehicle joins a second bookmobile already
in service in Santa Clara County. The bookmobile provides
personalized, comprehensive library service to people who may
have diffi culty visiting a community library including Seniors,
individuals with physical limitations, children, and geographically
remote residents in the cities of Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Campbell,
Cupertino, Los Altos, Milpitas, Saratoga and unincorporated areas
of Santa Clara County.
The addition of the second bookmobile helps the Santa Clara
County Library District operate as an open forum promoting
knowledge, ideas, and cultural enrichment. The library provides
free access to informational, educational, and recreational materials
and services. In response to community needs, the library provides
diverse resources on a wide variety of subjects and viewpoints, and
helps people use these resources.

You’ll know when you see the new vehicle because of the fun
graphics displayed on the outside. But, that’s just the beginning!
Additional unique features include an activity wall so kids can play
and explore; benches for inside seating; solar panels for a greener
and more efficient vehicle; a lift in back that can also be used
for wheelchair accessibility; and a T.V. monitor inside to provide
additional information on library programs and services.
Making stops to over 46 different locations twice a month, the
bookmobiles offer a unique and personalized library service to
residents who have difficulty visiting a Santa Clara County Library
District library (such as those in Morgan Hill and Gilroy). Stocked
with books, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, console games,
and even magazines, it’s no wonder it already has a following of
devoted fans. Find out more about the SCCLD bookmobile at
