Take advantage of the Free Walking Tours of historic Gilroy districts provided by the Gilroy Historical Society. Tours are available on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm. Wings of History Museum
The Wings of History Museum, located at 12777 Wings Murphy of Avenue in San Martin History, dedicated Museum to the preservation and restoration of antique aircraft and aviation history, and has been in existence for more than 40 years. Experience the museum, as well as special event exhibits such as antique automobiles, tractors, engines, and many other unique modes of transportation. This year the Museum hosts its seventeenth Open House on Saturday, May 20, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Chitactac-Adams Heritage Park
Located at 10001 Watsonville Road in Gilroy is a lovely 4.5 acre park-site featuring the beautiful Uvas Creek. The park offers a unique view into the Native American culture of Santa Clara County before and after the arrival of the Spanish in the late 1700’ s. Take a self-guided interpretive walk around the site, including eight stations with interpretive panels, exhibiting photographs and original art highlighting the Adams School, Chitactac village life, tulle structures, and petroglyphs( rock art). The park is open daily year-round from 8 am to sunset. Mount Madonna Park, at 7850 Pole Line Road in Watsonville, is open yearround from 8 am until sunset and is one of the most majestic of Santa Clara County’ s regional parks and recreation areas, featuring the characteristic redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountain range. Visitors can learn about areas where Ohlone Indians hunted and harvested, or take the onemile self-guided nature trail that winds around the ruins of cattle baron Henry Miller’ s summer home. Mt. Try a new spin on the game by heading over to Gavilan College Golf Course at 5055 Santa Theresa Boulevard in Gilroy for a round of Foot Golf. Morgan Hill’ s Coyote Creek Golf Club, boasts two 18-hole courses. It is also home to the annual Senior PGA Tour tournament. CordeValle Golf Club offers golfers 1,700 acres of hills and valleys with elevated tees, streams, California oaks and sycamores, on more than 1,000 protected acres.
