outh Valley Symphony transports
listeners to another time and
place, moves them with the swell
of a crescendo, and brings them to tears
with the syncopated harmony of forty-
plus talented musicians. No one should
miss a single note.
“All of these different sounds com-
ing together to make one sound, that’s a
miracle,” Concert Master, violinist, and
vocalist, Beverly Olivier Blount, said. “So
you will hear many, many, miracles.”

This year marks the Symphony’s 44th
season, and on October 1st at Guglielmo
Winery, South Valley Symphony (SVS)
will present its opening benefit con-
cert, From Hollywood to the Met. San
José Opera stars, Sandra Rubalcava-
Bengochea, a soprano, and her husband
Christopher Bengochea, a tenor, will
perform several favorites from
Italian operas.
