MORGAN HILL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
SOUTH VALLEY WINE TASTING & CHARITY AUCTION
The 20th Annual South Valley Wine Auction was a resound-
ing success. They raised over $20,000 for the participating
charities and will be able to give out $5,000 in scholar-
ships to the Live Oak High School athletic department
and the Santa Clara Wine Association for their Viticulture
scholarship program.
Tim McDonald, founder of Wine Spoken, Director
of Judging at the San Francisco International Wine
Competition, and Chief Judge at the Central Coast Wine
Competition was on hand to evaluate the wines served by
our local wineries at the VIP reception. His pick for “what
wine to take when stranded on a deserted island” was
Seeker Vineyards Rose. The Mederios Family Vineyards
Malbec received an honorable mention.
The people choice awards went to Aver Family
Vineyard’s Blessings and Mederios Family Vineyards Malbec
who tied for first place and the Fernwood and Dorcich
Cabernets tied for second.
MHCF President Pamala Meador and Lori Fox co-
chaired the event and promise to have a bigger and better
event in support of our local wine region and great causes
with the community.
