ell, getting back into the swing of things after sitting
on the beach in Kauai for eight days has proven to be
quite the challenge for us. But somehow we've man-
aged to get this to the printer with only a few minor setbacks.
OK, some weren't so minor but non-the-less, here it is.
Most of us know that the South Santa Clara Valley is beam-
ing with wineries and most of us have enjoyed visiting them
now and again. In our feature story regarding our local wines,
it is our intention to re-acquaint you with your old favorites
and introduce you to a few new wineries, that you might want
to visit. My goal is to visit all of them during their Passport
month — September.
There are many special people in our area and we are
always happy to have the opportunity to showcase them within
these pages. This issue, I am especially happy to have Brenda
and Shawn Chizankos' lovely home featured. We have known
Brenda and Shawn for some time but had no idea of just how
special they are until we attended The Day on the Ridge event
that they hosted at their home this past June. Both their home
and that event were simply over the top amazing. We've tried to
give you a sense of that in our Community Digest section, page
42-43 and on pages 52-57.
