The crew brought us in without incident but would not
allow Nate and Robyn to go up. We will definitely try
parasailing again sometime.
On Friday, we split up once again. The ladies stayed
around the Villas sunning by the pool while the guys
took-off on a fishing expedition with Bobby. We didn’t
have much luck fishing. Dennis was the only one to
have any luck, landing a small barracuda. The rest of
us were skunked. We had a great time however, visiting
some beautiful fishing spots, some with calm waters
and others with heavy duty ocean turbulance.
That evening, some of the group ran into town to do
some last-minute shopping and others began packing in
preparation for an early morning shuttle to catch flights
home. Eight of us were out the door at 5 am to catch
an air hop back to Belize City and our connecting flight
to LAX. The quick 15-minute flight was soured with a
50-minute delay on the tarmac due to heavy rain, thun-
derstorms and lightning. We were not allowed to leave
the plane until the weather calmed down. Actually that
was the only really bad weather we had the whole trip.
Belize is a spectacular corner of the world, especially
for ocean lovers! And the comaraderie of our group was
great and our shared experiences memorable. It was
fun to share meals at the Villas as well as wander about
both land and sea, enjoying the seafood cuisine, Belikin
beer and rum concoctions.
We thank Addie and Ron for
organizing the trip and both Mike and
Debbi and Addie and Ron for sharing
their anniversaries with all of us. A special
thank you to our new friends: Dennis
and Lisa, Nate and Bobby, Marcella and
Tiana. We can hardly wait for the next get
together to share memories and photos!
