Tis the
Season to Be
Friendly Faces
In our too-busy world it’s nice to bump into
friends when we’re out at dinner, at the gas
station, buying groceries or picking up the
kids. South County is not too big, not too
small, but just right.
Community Connection
It’s easy to connect with neighbors, business
owners and elected officials. Have Coffee
with the Mayor (Roland or Steve), pop in to
a Chamber mixer (hit all three Chambers!),
attend a PorchFest, or rub elbows with
Morgan Hill or Gilroy PD at the annual
National Night Out.
Community Mindedness
Our calendars are packed year ‘round with
events. At some, we volunteer. At others, we
dress up for dinner, kick up our heels, and
raise our paddles for worthy causes. We’ve
got service clubs, community foundations,
and many non-profit organizations focused
on doing good and having fun—words to
live by.
Scenic Beauty
Nestled between Diablo and Santa Cruz
Mountain Ranges, our oak-studded hills,
open space, and sparkling waterways inspire
nature-lovers and fitness buffs. Just outside
of town are horse ranches, farm lands, vine-
yards, and public parks. That’s Scenic with
a capital S.
for all that
this wonderful
place we
call home is!
18

GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN
Stuff to Do
No excuse for couch potatoes around here!
We’ve got Gilroy Garlic Festival, Mush-
room Mardi Gras, Taste of Morgan Hill,
an international film festival, car shows, live
music onstage and in the streets, downtown
holiday parades, art and photography shows,
and more.
Best Weather Ever
Climate change is real, but South County’s
Mediterranean climate, with its moderate
temperatures, blue skies and low humidity,
can rival anyplace in the world. No wonder
our out-of-state friends are jealous.
Fine Vines and Wines
Hail Santa Clara Valley! We’re California’s
oldest Viticultural region, with our very
own appellation and a Wine Trail to boot.
Tasting rooms welcome wine connoisseurs
and novices alike. We’ve got two Wine Pass-
port Months—Spring and Fall. And great
wine clubs.
Fab Foodie Experiences
Our downtowns offer it all, whether your
taste runs to seafood, steak or vegetar-
ian fare; Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Italian,
Korean, or California fusion. You’ll never
run out of fab foodie experiences in South
County.
Tee Times
We’ve got an amazing range of golf courses,
with Coyote Creek, Eagle Ridge, Cinna-
bar Hills, Gilroy Golf Course. They offer
challenges for golfers at all levels of skill and
competitive spirit. What’s a mulligan or two
among golf buddies?
