County Update With Santa Clara County Supervisor Mike Wasserman Supervisor Mike Wasserman was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in November, 2010, and re-elected in 2014. October 22, 2018 is the last day to register to vote in the November 6, 2018 General Election. More than 1.2 million people are eligible to vote in our County, but only 850,000 are currently registered. Register online or request a Vote-by-Mail ballot by using the free SCCVOTE mobile app. Don’t forget: If you recently moved or changed names, you must re-register. Be a part of democracy in action! Thousands of volunteers are needed to help on Election Day. Volunteers receive stipends of $115 - $200 and must be California registered voters or legal permanent residents of the United States. Students 16 years and older may apply for the Student Election Offi cer Program. Go Green 2018 Important Dates The Sample Ballot & Voter Information Pamphlet is the informational booklet that is sent to registered voters before every election. Voters have the option to receive their Sample Ballot & Voter Information Pamphlet electronically instead of by regular mail. Sign up online to Go Green! Vote-By-Mail for Free Since 2016, no postage is necessary for the 80 – 90% of voters who choose to vote by mail. The Board of Supervisors approved paying the postage for all vote-by-mail voters, making it easier than ever to participate in elections. October 22, 2018 Last Day to Register to Vote for November 6 General Election October 23, 2018 Last Day to a Request Vote-by-Mail Ballot November 6, 2018 General Election Returning Vote-By-Mail Ballots Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day AND must be received no later than three days after Election Day. Nearly 40% of voters now prefer to hand deliver their ballots which can be done at any Santa Clara County polling place from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
