ONE GIVING TREE KICK-OFF
On Monday November 5th, the Intero Foundation awarded One
Giving Tree with a $5,000 grant. Debbi Sanchez, Executive
Director of OGT stated, “We are humbled. Thanks to our generous
community and the Intero Foundation, together we’re making the
holidays brighter.” One Giving Tree was launched in 2014 under
the Gilroy Foundation. They provide Christmas “tree kits” – a
tree, ornaments and stand, to families in need living in the South
County. Their kickoff fundraiser took place in October at Old City
Hall. Fundraising and donations of new and used ornaments

A TASTE OF MORGAN HILL
Fun was the theme of this year’s Taste of Morgan Hill. Festivalgoer’s
enjoyed many new attractions at this year’s festival with expanded
artists area, new kids zone layout with a mom and baby rest stop, nine
participating South Valley wineries to choose from in the Wine Garden, free
valet bike parking and much more. This year’s entertainment was top notch
with three stages to choose from including the Festival Stage’s high energy
dance bands, acoustic stage and kids entertainment on the Kids Stage.
The Car Show hit a record with participants on Saturday and the new Hot
Rods & Harley Show on Sunday. A wide variety of food was offered in
the food court, from deep fried veggies, Mexican food and kabobs to tri-tip
sandwiches, grilled shrimp and steamed artichokes. Over 160 vendors were
on hand for the shopping enthusiasts, from handcrafted arts and crafts to
retail vendors and business display booths. There was something for every-
one at this year’s festival.
This is the first year of the Drive Out Domestic Violence campaign to raise awareness
and funds for domestic violence. Honda Morgan Hill donated the car and donated
$1.00 for each signature placed on the vehicle for the duration of the campaign. An
estimated 3,000+ signatures were on the car at the conclusion of the campaign.
