Gilroy Police Encourage
Residents to Prepare, Prevent and Report
S
trong communities are built on mutual trust and
understanding. Strong relationships between our
police department, businesses, local organizations and
city leadership are critical to maintaining public safety and
effective policing.
Considering this, the Gilroy Police Department (GPD) has
developed a Community Guide for Dealing with Homeless
Issues, Theft, and Burglary. We are dedicated to connecting
people who are in need of assistance with organizations
that can help. We are also dedicated to ensuring the safety

of our community and reducing criminal activity. Residents
are encouraged to review and implement the provided
security tips from the GPD. In addition, the GPD encourages
residents to report criminal activity to help law enforcement
identify emerging issues, connect related criminal activity,
and adjust policing efforts. Remember, if you don’t report it,
we have no record of it. Records are vital for providing the
basis for future plans and initiatives. We thank you for your
partnership, your support and the role you play in keeping
our community safe!
