Larry and I hope your holidays were amazing and that 2019 will be a happy and prosperous year for all. This is our third year of "People to Watch” and we are excited to see what this year's crop of promising individuals will accomplish in 2019. The South Santa Clara Valley is so rich in talented community leaders that our job of narrowing the field down to just twelve each year is always a challenge. As we move through 2019, we encourage you to let us know if you know of someone who you feel fits the promise of making a dif- ference in 2020 (pages 25-37). It's hard to say goodbye to Vicki Minerva, our Marriage and Family Therapist columnist but totally understand her need to cut back on a few commitments; sadly her column in TODAY made the cut. I have so enjoyed her contributions to this publication and I know our readers will miss reading The Relationship Dance. Anyone who knows us knows that two years ago, we adopted a beautiful, furry, baby boy. His name is Charlie and he now weighs some 85 pounds, and that's not soaking wet. It's been a fun two years and I'm still waiting for him to get out of the puppy stage that I was told originally would last about a year. Although shaken by the thought that his puppy stage might go on forever, I remain totally in love with the big guy. Hope you enjoy our visit with all things PET (pages 47-53). We want to welcome Morgan Hill's new Mayor, Rich Constantine and look forward to sharing his successes and challenges with you, our readers as he leads the city council forward. He shares his plans for Morgan Hill, which mirror his platform during the campaign, with us (pages 68-71). The Poppy Jasper International Film Festival is back and promises to be even better this year. I commend Mattie Scaroiot for all her hard work. It's a pleasure for us to sponsor such a class event for South Santa Clara Valley (pages 68-71). Each year seems to just fly by. I hope you enjoy our photo essay of 2018 (pages 92-95). It's always fun to review the prior year and remember the people and places that were featured in the pages of TODAY . njoy!! gmh E GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN gmh february/march 2019 gmhtoday.com 5
