With summer comes opportunities to get out and enjoy all the wonderful places and things that living in this area aff ords. In this issue we wanted to remind our readers of some of the things that can be enjoyed with a limited amount of time and expense. So "Day Tripping, Yeah!” just seemed a good off ering. (Pages 62-69) Kudos to Morgan Hill's City Council and City Staff. What a great job they are doing! There's so much going on that it is a challenge to keep up with it all. We've attempted to provide an overview of their progress as we looked at the new, improved and expanded real estate development projects that are fueling economic growth, tourism, job creation—all contributing to providing even more reasons for people to “Choose Morgan Hill” when looking for a place to live, work and play. (Pages 32-37) Of course we couldn't even think of the progress happening in our area relative to tourism without writing about Jane Howard, Executive Director of the recently designated California Welcome Center at the Gilroy Outlets. Formerly the Gilroy Welcome Center, the facility provides tourists with information on all the fun things to do in California. Congrats for a job well done! (Pages 88-89) E njoy!! I felt it a fun lead in to our pieces 1) highlighting summer fun options up and down the road within an hour's drive and 2) our obsession with the automobile.
