Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, located
at 400 Beach Street, is a throwback to
classic seaside amusement parks, boasting
over 40 rides and attractions. If you’ve
never heard of the Looff Carousel (circa
1911), and the Giant Dipper wooden
roller coaster (built in 1924), you need to
brush up on your national landmarks.
Visitors can enjoy the Boardwalk
daily from May through August. Some
attractions such as the Boardwalk Bowl,
Casino Arcade, and Neptune’s Kingdom
(including mini-golf and arcade) are
open all year. Season passes offer
unlimited rides and a bonus book of

The Mystery Spot
Santa Cruz has long been heralded
by tourists because of the infamous
Mystery Spot, which seems to defy the
laws of gravity. The Mystery Spot was
“discovered” in 1939 by a group of land
surveyors. A year later it was opened to
the public. Over the years hundreds of
thousands of visitors have made their
pilgrimage to the Mystery Spot, sharing
