STEP TWO Trace the pattern with blue glue gel (you can see through the T-Shirt) or don’t use a pattern and just make up a design as you go. Make a square around your design and fill in your back- ground with glue patterns of lines and dots so your origi- nal image becomes part of a bigger pattern. The glue will wash away and where ever you put glue will be white! STEP ONE Draw a design on a white paper with black marker. Slide cardboard into T-Shirt and tape back so it is tight and smooth and easy see pattern and paint on. (See Avery on right) Slip your marker design under shirt (See Lyla on left) You can also do a design without a pattern. STEP FOUR When paint is dry, remove your marker design and cardboard from your T-Shirt. STEP FIVE Soak the dry T-Shirt in hot water to remove glue and then turn inside-out and wash in washing machine and dry in dryer. STEP THREE After the glue has completely dried (a few hours or overnight) paint T-Shirt around the dry blue glue using non toxic acrylic paint. Your dry glue will make the T-Shirt puckery. Choose high contrast, bright colors for a vibrant, bright, powerful end result. Lyla and Avery. filled their backgrounds with free-form designs. You can now wear your work of art!
