understand and provide defi nition for it
and then determine how we can best be
effective within our three-year period,”
Dr. Rose said. “It is a big issue in our
community here in Gilroy and certainly
here at the college.”
Of the 10,000 students enrolled annu-
ally at Gavilan College approximately 500
could be considered homeless.
“I think what Ryan, Mark, and I are
interested in doing is setting up a process
for whatever programmatic changes we
want to make, and have it be something
the Rotary Club is interested in support-
ing annually, year after year.”
Considering the support and coop-
eration he’s received so far, Turner has
every confidence Rotary will rise to the
challenge and successfully execute yet
another daunting challenge.
“We can make a difference. We’re
going to find a way to be involved,
because if the answer existed, we
wouldn’t continue to see a growth in
homelessness; so we’re going to find
so mething to do. I’m confident we are,”
Turner said.
