open beams in the kitchen ceiling; the
wide plank flooring, and natural wood
siding. Texas limestone frames the
fireplaces and dark, stained barn doors
seal off the pantry and laundry rooms.
You enter through a 6-foot by
10-foot tall glass pivot door that opens
into a Modern Farmhouse style home
and immediately step into a large open
living room with comfortable seating,
a large fireplace, and a baby grand
piano. To the left is a staircase leading
to the two upstairs bedrooms. Next to
the stairway is an open doorway that
leads to an office alcove and two more
bedrooms. Near the back of the living
room, to the left, is an open doorway
that leads to the master bedroom.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom,
making all five ensuites. There are
three separate bathrooms in the house,
including one in the pool/patio area.
To the right of the entry, a hallway
leads to the large farmhouse kitchen,

which opens into a spacious family room
with 16-foot ceilings and its own fire-
place. A wet bar sits along an outside
wall with a pass-through window to the
patio, and access to both the living room
and the kitchen. To reach the formal din-
ing room, with its table for sixteen, you
must pass through the wine tunnel—a
short passage with 10-foot tall built-in
cabinets with glass doors. Wine bottles
are stacked from top to bottom.
In order to bring the inside out and
the outside in, the 10-foot tall glass walls
along the back and side patios fold accor-
dion style, exposing entire rooms to the
elements. Windows in the kitchen and
family room open to outdoor counters,
with barstools tucked beneath, to allow
the passing of food and conversation,
and that “enhances the indoor/outdoor
experience,” said Diane. Poolside and
outside seating areas have overhead infra-
red heating to extend the outdoor experi-
ence late into the night.
