Using a back and forth mo-
tion put in various size trees
on horizon line.
Cut mountain pattern out
of stiff paper
Step Six
Draw the road with the
yardstick…2 lines..wide
apart at the bottom of the
paper, and then close
together as they converge
to meet or almost touch on
the horizon line.
Step Two
Apply pastel heavily to
stencil and place on top of
black foam board.
Begin filling in the sides
of the road with color, add
trees.
Step Seven
Step Three
Add black to road, a white
line up the middle of the road
and any other details you
want. No two are alike even
though we did the process
the same! That is what
makes each person's art
unique and wonderful!
Push the pastel from the
stencil onto the black
paper
Move hand upward
to the top of the black
paper
Step Four
Supplies
Using a yardstick, draw
the horizon line (where
the sky meets the land),
across the paper some-
where near the middle of
the paper
Pastel or pastel chalk
Black Foam Board
(or any black paper)
Stiff paper to cut stencil
Scissors
Yardstick
Newspaper of cover for
working area
(Working outside on a patio table
is ideal for easy clean up.)
