Finding new ways to connect with you

When the world shut down , our team kept
working and adapting to the evolving crisis . Though City Hall closed its physical doors , most of our team pivoted to working from home and meeting the needs of our community through new methods of communication . For those whose work required that they be out and about in the community , we adapted to personal protective equipment and social distancing . Each and every day we rise to these new challenges , continually looking for ways to meet the needs of our community .
One of our top priorities this year has been finding new ways to connect with our community in spite of these challenges . We bring our services to you in ways that promote safety and adherence to state and county public health orders . City Council meetings have been held remotely and are available for viewing through the City ’ s website and Facebook page . Virtual Town Hall meetings have also been held remotely and the community has been invited to participate through Facebook LIVE . Weekly we send out the Email Express e-newsletter , which provides updates on City news , opportunities , and current information on the public health orders . Residents and businesses can access an online list of City services , including permits , utility billing , housing services , and more . In this same spirit , we recently unveiled our new City website with a modern design and an emphasis on improved navigation and search functionality .
It has truly been a year full of challenges for all of us . But we are learning to adjust and adapt . We look forward to the time when we can again meet in person , but until then we will continue to look for ways to connect and provide services in a manner that prioritizes the safety of you and your families . Be well Gilroy . We may not be able to meet you in person , but we are here . Still working . Still serving our community .
