Special Merit Award- Morgan Hill Police Chief , Shane Palsgrove - Chief Palsgrove was appointed on June 15 , 2020 after serving as the Interim Police Chief since April 4 , 2020 . Palsgrove has worked for the City of Morgan Hill since 2001 , starting his career as a sworn Police Officer and working through the ranks as Detective , Corporal , Sergeant and Police Captain prior to becoming Chief . He holds his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Criminal Justice Administration from San Jose State University . He has exemplified leadership by coordinating response and mutual aid responders following the Ford Store and Garlic Festivlal incidents , and provided critical leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic .

Youth Rising Star Award : Ryder Kirk - Ryder Kirk is a remarkable young man . He ’ s a straight A student who has been on the President ’ s Honor Roll and is currently working on his Eagle Scout badge with Troop 730 . One of the reasons Ryder was chosen was due to his positive influence on his peers . In addition , his selfless volunteering , evident in the countless hours he spends collecting food for the needy , is another reason Ryan was honored with the Youth Rising Star Award .

Celebrate Morgan Hill Awards - Each fall since 1957 the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce has accepted confidential nominations for the Celebrate Morgan Hill event . Awards are given annually in recognition of the nominee ’ s history of outstanding service , civic involvement and leadership to the community of Morgan Hill .
