The brewery partners were on different paths before discovering their passion for brewing beer . Albanese , 39 , grew up in Massachusetts where he attended Salem State College and earned a degree in journalism . After graduation he moved to California where he began dating Anderson ’ s sister , Amelia , whom he married in 2010 . He is currently a business and politics writer for India-West , an Indian print and online newspaper .
Anderson , 36 , graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in applied math . The home brewing experience led him to bartending . He ’ d worked behind the plank at many bars and restaurants in the South Bay for eight years before the pandemic forced him to find another trade . He currently works in hazard waste disposal .
Asked if he ’ s looking forward to getting back to beverage service , Anderson replied he ’ s “ definitely looking forward to it . And I ’ ll enjoy it more selling my own beer .”
According to Albanese , he and Anderson will initially continue with their day jobs and handle brewery duties in their off hours . When the operation is in full swing , they look forward to a full-time commitment to the brewery .
The prospect of a new micro-brewery in Gilroy will certainly bring a collective “ cheers ” from South County beer aficionados and casual fans alike . After all , how could it be bad ?
