Step # 5 : ( Above Left ) Dylan uses paint with less water , and a smaller brush , to create more intense color . He paints around leaf edges .

Step # 6 : ( Above Right ) Elizabeth , uses rocks to press the leaves on to wet watercolor background , and continues painting a darker color around the edges .

* Not pictured : When dry , she will take palm fronds and lay over this finished leaf pattern , paint around palm fronds , layering the patterns .

Step # 7 : ( Above ) When paint is dry , Luke lifts off palm frond to reveal a beautiful , abstract leaf image . Here you can see the salt texture in the background . BEAUTIFUL !

Step # 8 : ( Left ) Left to Right , Dylan Sorenson , Elizabeth Sorenson , and Luke Berta have done original , leaf prints with watercolor that are suitable for framing ! Amazing Job !
