Morgan Hill Celebrates 30 Years of Leadership

Honoring Our History, Inspiring Our Future on October 4th!

by Steve Tate for Leadership Morgan Hill

After 30 years of successfully immersing our annual classes in all things Morgan Hill and being recognized as Morgan Hill’ s 2025 Non-Profit of the year, our Leadership Morgan Hill( LMH) Board and our alumni are ready to celebrate, The party will be at Guglielmo Winery on October 4th where we will implement our theme: Honoring Our History; Inspiring Our Future.

LMH’ s mission is to“ inspire leadership and service for a better Morgan Hill,” our tagline simply:“ Inspire – Connect – Serve.” Our rich history is filled with accomplishments while having a large, positive impact on our community. The gala party on October 4 will tout our successes and the nearly 500 program graduates while also setting the stage for our future successes. Our goal is to make it as much fun as possible, with a real party atmosphere!
Our program provides nine Friday and occasional Monday evening sessions and is shaped to avoid lectures, rather incorporating class participation and hands-on experiences as better learning vehicles. Graduates love to brag that they are the“ best class ever.” All classes are better than previous classes because we improve them every year by incorporating class feedback and new ideas.
Classes are also required to complete a project that improves the Morgan Hill community before they graduate in September. There are some guidelines, but the class is essentially on their own in selecting, funding and executing the project. Class and public feedback from the projects is always positive, giving participants a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment while cementing class friendships and providing a fun learning experience.
While tuition covers only about 35-40 % of the cost to put on the annual classes, fund-raising is needed to finance the balance. LMH annually recognizes one or more community leaders( s) to be awarded for leadership excellence and uses the Leadership Excellence Award Dinner( LEAD) as the gala event honoring the awardee( s) to also raise the needed funds for the program and for scholarships. LEAD has become a premier“ must attend” annual function with a fun theme based on the awardee( s) interests and accomplishments. LEAD is on hiatus this year, replaced by our 30-year celebration.
LMH’ s stars are our graduates, nearly 500 strong. So many have gone on to accomplish so much to keep this such a great community. We are working hard to locate and reach out to all our alumni in hopes that they will be able to attend and be part of this gala gathering.
A cocktail reception, silent auction, fun games, elegant dinner, entertainment and a brief uplifting program will all be featured at the party on October 4. Alumni, please join us – and if you are interested in perhaps joining a future class( it will be the best ever!), please come to see how much we’ ve done, we’ d love to have you be a part of our future! Oh! did I mention that it’ s going to be FUN?
