A successful community is a composite of hard-working , selfless people from diverse backgrounds , compassionate businesses focused on the next big thing , and non-profit organizations working to improve the lives of others . The following pages are dedicated to celebrating those people , businesses , and organizations representing the best in the South County , as recognized by their respective peers and community members . Every year the Gilroy and Morgan Hill Chambers of Commerce recognize outstanding businesses , organizations , and people who do great work in their respective communities . Those businesses , organizations and persons are presented with the Spice of Life Award ( Gilroy ), and the Celebrate Morgan Hill Award ( Morgan Hill ).
Each Chamber of Commerce receives nominations at large from their respective communities . Nomination committees make recommendations to the Chamber Boards , who make the final selections . The Chambers of Commerce presented this year ' s awards live at their annual awards celebrations on March 26 ( Gilroy ) and April 3 ( Morgan Hill ).
