Don ’ t know about you , but after all the rains and flooding our little South County had to endure this winter , the prospect of more sunny days and green hills is an exciting and welcome relief . To help you get out into the good weather , our South County spring is filled with events and activities for all . From youth , high school , college , and recreational sports to activities ranging from non-profit fundraisers to award ceremonies , some spring activity is sure to pique your interests . Don ’ t forget festivals , art exhibits , classes , and more . Spring has sprung , and it ’ s time to get out and have some fun !
Of note this spring are two great wine events : the Downtown Morgan Hill Wine Stroll , hosted by the Morgan Hill Downtown Association , happening on April 29th , and the Downtown Gilroy Wine and Art Walk , hosted by the Gilroy Downtown Business Association , on May 20th . Theater events are happening all spring and summer at Pintello Comedy Theater and the Limelight Theater in Gilroy , and with South Valley Civic Theater ( SVCT ) at the Community Playhouse in Morgan Hill . Into music ? Count on great local and regional artists performing live music every weekend at our local wineries and many restaurants .
Make sure to get out and hike our local trails , too . The wildflowers are in bloom , a spectacular sight you don ’ t want to miss . We are surrounded by so much beauty , and the views of the coast and valley floor from atop Mount Madonna and Harvey Bear parks are well worth the climb . Cell service is spotty at times but mostly good , so you are never alone . However , it ’ s best to be well prepared and hike with company , so take water and a friend , furry or not !
Speaking of furry friends , we lost our best furry friend , Snacks , in early February . To say Snacks was an amazing doggy is an understatement . She gave us ten years of love and joy , laughs , adventures , and so much more . Since her passing , we have been reminded just how much she was loved by our friends and family , and how incredible she was . She gave us unconditional love right to the very end . If only we could all love others like our furry friends love us !
