Dining Out : continued
Deb Smith chose the Beets & Goat Cheese Arugula Entrée Salad — baby arugula tossed with balsamic vinaigrette , served with roasted red and yellow beets , toasted walnuts , dried cranberries , and goat cheese . Her review was spectacular , “ The combination of the earthy tasting beets , goat cheese and briny vinaigrette dressing made the beet salad a flavorsome treat .” ( I think she has a hidden talent !).
Bryson went with my close-second choice , the USDA Prime ribeye steak — a 14 oz . grilled seasoned rib-eye steak served with starch of the day ( a huge tater-tot-looking scalloped potato ), and fresh grilled seasonal vegetables with a mushroom demi-glace sauce . The ribeye was savory and had just the right amount of marbling for Bryson . Ordered medium-rare , my sample was delicious . The solid ribeye flavor was enhanced by the mushroom demi-glace , creating a mouth-watering experience .
We also ordered the Noah ’ s Special Pasta - sautéed diced chicken with seasonal roasted vegetables tossed with tequila poblano chiles cream sauce served with fusilli pasta , topped with parmesan cheese . The chicken was tender , and the vegetables were perfectly done . The poblanos and cream sauce added just the right touch of flavor . The combination of ingredients combined to create a wonderful dish .
Getting full but knowing we had to get desserts in , we decided to box up a fair portion of each pasta dish . Reports from the Smith ’ s confirmed my suspicions : the pastas were “ amazing ” warmed up the next day .
Lastly the desserts . The Lava cake was soft and moist . Served at the ideal temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream , its fudgy chocolate flavor was complimented by the whipped cream and a raspberry sauce topping . We unanimously enjoyed it . The Plantains with Ice Cream dessert was the table favorite and scored an 11 out of 10 !
