In addition to office hours at the Gilroy Vets Hall and by appointment at the Winchester Boulevard offices Mondays through Fridays from 8am – 5pm ( closed from 12pm – 1pm ), the VSO also has free virtual sessions every Tuesday ( excluding holidays ) from 8:10 am – 12pm and 1pm - 4:30pm .
During virtual sessions , offered via Zoom , veterans and / or dependents will be placed in private sessions with veteran services representatives for half hour sessions to discuss and / or begin applying for benefits . Call the office for more information on virtual sessions .
VA HEALTH CARE : VA Palo Alto health care is part of VA Sierra Pacific Network ( VISN 21 ), which serves veterans in northern and central California . VA Palo Alto consists of three inpatient facilities located in Palo Alto , Menlo Park , and Livermore , in addition to four community-based outpatient clinics in San Jose , Capitola , Monterey , and Fremont . It also offers two residential homes for veterans in the Compensated Work Therapy program . VA Palo Alto operates nearly 800 beds , including three nursing homes and a 100-bed homeless domiciliary , all to serve more than 67,000 enrolled veterans .
“ To be treated at the VA , veterans don ’ t have to stop seeing their physicians through private insurance . They can go to the VA while still seeing their private doctors ,” said VA Mobile Medical Team Outreach Specialist Danny Molina . “ But they do need to get enrolled into the VA . It ’ s not automatic .”
Veterans can sign up at enrollment and eligibility offices at any of the facilities . The VA Mobile Medical Outreach Team can assist with filling out the application for health benefits when they ’ re at the Gilroy Veterans Hall on the first and third Friday of the month .

These outpatient clinics offer primary care and specialty health services , including cardiology , diabetes care , foot care ( podiatry ), post-traumatic stress disorder ( PTSD ), and other specialties depending on the location .
“ While the Gilroy Veterans Hall isn ’ t a one-stop shop , it can be a place to get assistance ,” said Perez . “ And with our partnerships with the County VSO and the VA Mobile Medical Outreach Team we can help vets get many of the services they need right here in Gilroy .”
