One Step Closer Hosts 20 Year Celebration

Morgan Hill-based nonprofit One Step Closer Therapeutic Horsemanship celebrated 20 years of equine-assisted-services with a gala hosted by Guglielmo Winery on June 28. One Step Closer’ s equine programs serve children and adults with special needs, military veterans, women, and families of fallen warriors.
The 20 year celebration raised funds for the organization ' s programs, including a new literacy program for children called“ Reading with Romeo & Friends”. Participants shared powerful testimonies on the benefits gained at One Step Closer. Morgan Hill Mayor Mark Turner shared his passion for reading literacy in support of One Step Closer’ s new pilot program to help young children in Morgan Hill improve their reading skills.
Over 175 guests enjoyed the beautiful ambience and wines from the historic Guglielmo Winery, delicious dinner by Fire4Hire, live music by the Country Cougars, line dance instruction by Janet Godard, and a wide selection of live and silent auction items. The fun-filled event helped One Step Closer raise critical funds, and a good time was had by all.
