Free Education for Entrepreneurs & Business Owners

Morgan Hill values opportunity, connection and a high quality of life. From that commitment comes ELEVATE Morgan Hill, a program that connects residents to career pathways, housing resources and opportunities to share their voice. Through partnerships with employers, schools and community organizations, ELEVATE helps program participants thrive in work and life, including Spanish-speaking and lower-income communities.
Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center( REC)
The City works with REC to provide business support services, including a multi-week training class where emerging and established entrepreneurs receive expert advice, hands-on training and continuous guidance to help them develop, launch and grow their ventures.
The first class graduated in October 2025 with 20 students honored at a ceremony attended by Mayor Mark Turner and California State Assembly Member Gail Pellerin. Graduates were given a diploma, a one-year free membership to the Chamber of Commerce and its networking opportunities, and a professional photo headshot.
Opportunity Awaits with REC
Are you ready to jump in? The program is now welcoming 20 new participants for the next series. For more info, contact Mary Magana-Ayala, mary. maganaayala @ morganhill. ca. gov, the city’ s economic opportunity program officer.
Participants can choose what fits their needs: a 10-week business preparation class to build skills, confidence and to develop a comprehensive business plan; or, a four-week class where participants learn startup fundamentals, how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, strategy development and product viability. Participants can even choose to attend both sessions for the most comprehensive package available. Classes and practical workshops are offered in both Spanish and English.
And yes, free really does mean free. Enrolled participants receive free education and invaluable resources to get ahead on strategic planning, operations, financial management and marketing to best navigate today ' s ever-changing market dynamics.

skills for Spanish-speaking residents who may not otherwise engage with local government. Participating in the Academy is a productive step toward personal empowerment and the growth of a leadership journey.
Participants will take guided tours through city hall and council chambers, learn about being part of the community improvement process, and graduate with a formal commencement ceremony to celebrate achievements. The program includes:
• Free eight to 10-week cohort program with 15 participants max
• Weekly evening classes, one topic per week
• Evening office hours
• Department heads present material first half, second half covers leadership development
• Childcare + Dinner
• Graduation + Showcase of Projects + Promotor Certification
The 10-week program covers topical classes on housing, public safety, economic development and public works, among others. The leadership development components cover communication, conflict resolution, and more.
