My Favorite Walks- Downtown and to Grandma ' s House!
O ne of my favorite things about living in Gilroy is going for walks with Mom and Dad. They take me out every day, which is simply good management on their part. I have a great deal to explore, and the world does not investigate itself. The best part is that we rarely take the same route twice— variety is important when you have my level of curiosity and discernment. Some days we stroll through quiet neighborhoods. Other days we head downtown to see what ' s happening. Either way, I make it interesting.
Downtown Gilroy is one of my favorite destinations. The smells alone are worth the trip. I enjoy greeting friendly people, surveying the activities, and— most importantly— checking the Pee Mail. Humans call it a fire hydrant, but every dog knows it is actually the neighborhood newspaper. I read it carefully and thoroughly. Who went for a walk? Who got a new puppy sibling? Who found a squirrel? It ' s all there, and I take my civic duty to stay informed very seriously.
As stimulating as downtown is, nothing compares to the days our walk leads us to Grandma ' s house. The moment we arrive, I know I am somewhere special. Grandma greets me with a smile and tells me how cute I am. I soak up every bit of it— because, frankly, I deserve it. Continued...
