Sanchez family . My mommy and daddy chose me and brought me into their home in September of last year . At the time I was ten-weeks old and weighed 12 whole ounces !

Since then , I have been growing and training mommy and daddy on how to take care of me . I am a Teacup Yorkie , and out of all my siblings I was the smallest . My big brother pictured below on the left called me a runt . Personally , I am not a fan of that word . And besides , as of this writing I have grown to almost 1.75 pounds ! And even better – my legs grew . ( more on legs later ).

Life around here is pretty good . The parentals feed me all the time . I get to crawl up and sleep in their arms anytime . And we even go for walks outside where I get to run around on the grass , meet new friends , and do my duty … what is it about grass ? I just smell it and …

Anyway , I think I like it here . Besides , I think mom and dad really need me around . They showed me some cool pictures of their last baby doggie , Snacks . And dad always wants to keep a little lighted picture of her on at night . Mom thinks he ’ s silly about that , but she misses Snacks too … and sometimes a lot . She must have been an awesome doggie . As much as these two play with me , hug me and kiss me , I know Snacks had it made too .

I know I have some big shoes to fill- that ’ s a runt joke . Everything ’ s big to me . It ’ s a good thing I am fast as a rabbit and smart as a fox . I love to fly around the house , climb the stairs , eat , poop , and sleep in front of the fireplace . I ’ ve got more toys than I can keep track of . And mom makes me sweaters out of these awesome woolly socks .

So back to my legs . I have three solid ones , and one that I broke recently . I was flying around the house , going from the floor to the couch by hopping on the ottoman then angling over to the couch . I was sticking the landings like an Olympic gymnast . Then I didn ’ t . Long story short , I found the seam between the cushions with my back leg , but the rest of my body wanted to head to the floor . So , my leg compromised by snapping around my knee . Yeah , I screamed . It was awful .

Thank goodness for my veterinarians , whom I got to meet ; Dr . Dennis Harrigan of Gilroy Veterinary Hospital , and his whole staff . # the best . And my surgical team at Blue Pearl in Del Rey Oaks . Dr . Dennis got me in , assessed and got me on some great meds , and before I knew it , I was in surgery . Four pins later , and I am on the mend . It ’ s been a few weeks , and I am gaining the use of my leg again . Yay .

Soon I will be flying around again just like before . Until then , the parentals take care of me well . And I noticed if I tuck my leg up under my ribs , they do even more for me . Not that I would do that on purpose .
