The Golden Grapevine by Andrea Nicolette
On a recent Fall-like day , I found myself looking forward to the holidays — time with family , conversations , and the copious amounts of food we ’ d share . It got me thinking about traditions and which one ’ s I ’ d be passing down to future generations .
For insight , I decided to visit my friends at the Senior Center and ask : “ Which traditions have you passed on to your loved ones and which ones do you look forward to every year ?”
Here are their answers ...
Luz Daniels :
I love Christmas because when you have kids you see that they enjoy it and my family always gets together .
Michael Devlin :
My favorite holiday is Christmas because the spirit of the season and because I look like Santa !
Connie Madlem :
Thansgiving because of the food and I enjoy cooking . But mainly becaise we get together .
Vicky Roach :
We only have one family member and we should always be there to help when needed . Being with family and I look forward every year seeing them .
Bonnie Neal :
To be a good person , get together and be united as a family . My family traditions are birthdays because we tend to do something special for everybody .
Bernice Lawrence :
We attend church on Christmas eve , and we circle the Christmas tree and sing silent night before we start opening presents . I like this tradition because we look forward every year .
