Dining Out with Friends at :

On a recent Monday evening we had the golden opportunity to dine out at Rosy ’ s at the Beach in Morgan Hill . What made this night even more special was “ breaking bread ” with our friends and South County Rockstars , Brooke and Emil Jakovcevic .

Brooke and Emil have been making music together for over five years and perform both as a duo and with other artists in two popular South County bands — DustFlower and Neverland . ( I ’ ll share more about Brooke and Emil ’ s music and other projects in the article “ Brooke and Emil : For the love of music & the music of love ” on page 38 ). They are musicians by night and weekend and hold down regular jobs during the day . Brooke is the Director of Sales and Events for the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and a Morgan Hill Downtown Association Board Director . Emil is a tech specialist , managing IT for SF Superior Court .
After a nearly six-year partnership in life and music , Brooke and Emil were married on Feb 24 , 2024 , at a beautiful ceremony and reception at Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill . Settling into our seats , we talked about life , relationships , and the various creative projects we are all working on over drinks and appetizers .

New Owners Vanessa Bermudez and Pamela Novak set us up with a few of their favorite specialty drinks and scrumptious appetizers . As we got to chatting things up , our servers delivered to the table a Smokey Margarita ( Mi Campo Reposado , lime juice , triple sec , agave , mezcal float ), an incredible Big Kahuna ( Plantation 100 proof rum , dark rum , almond orgeat ( pronounced “ Or-zha ”), passion fruit , fresh lime juice , flaming garnish ), the Blue Lagoon ( vodka , blue curacao , blackberry liquor , fresh lemon juice , splash of soda water ), and the delightful Pink Mermaid ( lemon vodka , fresh lemon , sweet & sour served up in a sugar rimmed glass with a splash of raspberry liquor ).
We mutually agreed that sharing is caring , and that the drinks looked so interesting that we should enjoy together , so we did . Passing all the drinks around the table and sharing notes was so fun . All the drinks were great and had a unique appeal . The Big Kahuna was the overall favorite . Huge — enough for two people , rum-filled with passion fruit and presented in a cool Polynesian-themed ceramic mug the size of a small salad bowl . It was garnished with pineapple , orange slices , and orchids . When the drink hit the table , it was on fire — literally . Close second was the Blue Lagoon — a wickedly fun punch for adults with a flavor reminiscent of blue Kool Aid ®. The Pink Mermaid
