My Awesome Arizona Adventure

lright everyone it ' s me , Roast Beef , reporting on my latest adventure to Arizona . I know what you ' re thinking : Isn ’ t Arizona a desert ? And stinking hot in the summer ? Yes , it is , but I got to see my Nana and Popo ( Mom ’ s parents ) in the desert , and I knew they would spoil me .

The trip included two stops . First , we stayed at Nana and Popo ’ s house for a few nights . I enjoyed snuggling with them and the treats they sneaked my way when mom wasn ’ t looking . Of course , I ran the place . I mean , these are my new Arizona digs ! My auntie dog , Heidi , was pretty mellow the whole time , and that worked out for me ! Also of course , Popo and Nana loved me in every way . Popo even wanted me to sleep with him , but I prefer to sleep with mom and dad … for security reasons … mostly theirs !

A few days later and we were off . Mom said we were going to meet my new dog friend Obi and my new non-dog friends Uncle Mike , Aunt Karyn , Uncle Mark , and Aunt Annette . Let me tell you , Obi is one cool pup . He ’ s bigger than me ( who isn ’ t ?), but I didn ’ t let that stop me from showing him who ’ s boss . We sniffed each other out , and I quickly made it clear that I was the queen of this castle — even if it was temporary .

After our introduction , I took a little tour of my other new Arizona digs . The scenery ? Stunning . The smells ? It was an earthy smell , but I worked with it . And the heat ? Let ’ s just say I wasn ’ t about to let it ruin my perfectly styled fur . Thank goodness for Auntie Karyn ’ s cool house and plenty of cool drinking water .

Now , let ’ s talk about the highlight of my trip : my first swim in a saltwater pool ! That ’ s right , I said swim . At first , I was like , “ You want me to do what ? Get in where ?” But then I thought , “ Roast Beef , this is your chance to prove you can do anything .” So , with a dramatic sigh , I let mom lower me into the pool .

The water was warm and slightly salty — just enough to make me feel like I was floating in a fancy spa . I paddled around like a pro , splashing a little for effect , and let ’ s be honest , I looked adorable doing it . I ’ m pretty sure my mom and everyone else was impressed , but who wouldn ’ t be ?

After my swim , I strutted around like I owned the place because , let ’ s face it — I did . Obi watched in awe as I shook off the water ( and maybe a little sass ) and took my place on a comfy lounge chair in the shade .

As hot as Arizona was , it was very cool to see Popo and Nana and meet my new dog and non-dog friends . Hope we can take another trip out there soon . But for now , I ’ m planning my next adventure . Who knows what fabulous place I ’ ll conquer next ? But one thing ’ s for sure : wherever I go , I ’ ll make it unforgettable — just like me .
