City Events
Let ’ s start with the ever-popular Sidewalk Saturdays that kicks off the 2024 season on Saturday , April 13 , in downtown Morgan Hill . Showcasing approximately 50 local vendors and makers-on-the-move , Sidewalk Saturdays pop-up market will operate once a month on the second Saturday of each month through December . You ’ ll find one-of-a-kind creations , pick up that perfect gift , enjoy live music and soak up a street festival vibe .
Don ’ t forget to stop nearby at the Farmers ’ Market that is open year-round , every Saturday morning . Check out the website for tips , like the Weekly CROP WATCH , which lets you know when your favorite varieties come in season , recipe ideas for seasonal items and added events as they are scheduled .
What ’ s next ? Walk , bike or roll through downtown for “ Open Streets ” on Saturday , May 11 . Count on family fun , kids ’ activities , a range of vendors with merchandise and services , entertainment and more ! Monterey Road between Main Avenue and 4th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic so pedestrians can enjoy not only the event , but also a relaxed lunch outside at one of the many downtown restaurants . A perfect way to get you in the summer mood !

Beyond the “ Open Streets ” event , bicycling at any time can be a dependable and inexpensive mode of transportation . Once you discover the freedom , convenience and fitness benefits of biking to any destination , you ’ ll wonder why you didn ’ t start riding sooner . With continuous improvements and enhancements to urban trails and bike lanes , Morgan Hill is a perfect destination for bike lovers of all experience levels .

Bicycling is just one component of transportation in Morgan Hill . The City is also working to develop its first comprehensive Transportation Master Plan .
The Plan is intended to address numerous components : including traffic counts , future traffic modeling , updated speed survey to set speed limits , review of existing transportation infrastructure , specific review and analysis of bike and pedestrian infrastructure , development of transportation priorities for the City , and creation of a capital improvement program . There are public meetings for interested residents to attend and / or participate more in-depth .
