Your Best Foot Forward of Mantelli near Rancho Hills Drive. From there, it’ s a steady, gentle downhill to Welburn Ave. Don’ t get too comfortable, though— you still need to get back over that last short hill on Welburn before coasting down toward Delta Drive. From there, down Santa Teresa south back to the Levee, then southeast to Wren Ave.
The last leg of the walk from Delta Drive to Wren is mostly flat if not slightly downhill at times and provides a nice cool-down. When you hit Wren Avenue again, you will have clocked 6.5 miles. We felt good, not exhausted but our legs felt like we put the work in. The views were epic, and as we finished the walk we knew we had earned breakfast!
I encourage you to try this residential-nature hybrid walk. If you walk regularly, it’ s doable in about 2 hours. If you’ re just starting to walk, it could take closer to 2.5 to 3 hours. Consider breaking it into two or three shorter walks to train your body – and most importantly your mind – to take on the full distance. Let us know if you try this walk and what you think. And share with us your favorite local walks. We’ d love to follow in your footsteps!
