The 1973 Gavilan College Ram football team celebrated the 50th anniversary of their National Championship season recently at Old City Hall Restaurant . The evening was lead by Head Coach Bob Garcia and was a fun , entertaining , at times hilarious walk down memory lane . Garcia recapped the season game-by-game with stories , highlights , and final scores for every team the Ram ' s beat on their 11-0 run . Team members came from near and far to celebrate . Guests included former 49er Jeff Garcia , Coach Garcia ' s son , who shared stories about growing up admiring the team and learning from their examples on and off the field . Gavilan President Dr . Pedro Avila unvield an artist ' s rendition of the future Bob Garcia Field to be built on the college campus .
