A small and mighty group focused on making a difference :
Day on the ridge keeps rockin for charity
This year ’ s Day on the Ridge charity concert was a huge success . The concert took place on Memorial Day weekend , May 26th and featured a line-up of rock and roll royalty with the Kings of Chaos All-Star band . The band featured legendary rockers Robin Zander of Cheap Trick , Sebastian Bach of Skid Row , Matt Sorum of Guns & Roses , Lita Ford , Gilby Clarke of Guns & Roses , James Lomenzo of Megadeath and White Lion , the incredible Orianthi of Alice Cooper and Michael Jackson fame . And Brent Woods who studied under the great Randy Rhoads and has played with Vince Neil , Sebastian Bach and Kristin Chenoweth to name a few .
The full day line-up included Lauren Monroe and husband Rick Allen ( Def Leppard . Lauren , the California-based singer / songwriter gave a powerhouse performance .
The Bee Gees tribute band “ You Should Be Dancing ” came out hot and got everyone on their feet with cover songs from the brothers Gibb we all grew up listening and dancing to — even if you won ’ t admit it !
Local powerhouse group “ Neverland ” brought their high energy rock and roll show to kick off the day . Brooke , Emil , Joe , and Robbie light things up with every performance they give , and this day was no exception .
DJ Lauren “ Lolo ” Mayhew kept things moving and grooving throughout the day , perched high atop a platform stage overlooking the concert grounds . The LA-based DJ , singer , actress has over 200 original songs , has toured the world , and opened for Brittney Spears , Destiny ’ s Child , and Aerosmith . Her presence at Day on the Ridge , as well as the other groups , shows the “ street cred ” the event organizers have within the music industry . We are blessed as a community to have a group of volunteers work so hard to bring an event of this magnitude to Gilroy .
Most importantly for the organizers and concert goers is the fact that this year ’ s Day on the Ridge concert raised over $ 101,000 for Saint Joseph ’ s Family Center . The mission of Saint Joseph ’ s Family Center is “ To alleviate hunger and prevent homelessness in South Santa Clara County by providing food , housing , and employment-related services , and advocating for system
